Coming SoonMallon and McRae are the two names this house carries, and Dothan, Alabama is where it keeps them. What the names hold is the family’s own affair — a house of this kind does not explain itself in public. The crest says Est. 1929, and the number is allowed to stand without a footnote.
What the Society shows instead is the standard: a Southern garden’s magnolias, hydrangeas, and azaleas; a table laid in cream and linen; gold worn sparingly and meant to be noticed exactly once. These are not aesthetics assembled from a mood board. They are the habits of a household, practiced long before they were a brand.
The provenance is private. The standard is public. That is the oldest arrangement in Southern society — and members will know the difference on sight.
